The treatment is effective against, among others, bacterial infections (e.g. Columnaris, Aeromonas, Pseudomonas, Erythrodermatitis, dropsy, fin and gill rot), infections by fungi (e.g. Saprolegnia), single celled skin parasites (e.g. Ichthyobodo, Ichthyophthirius, Chilodonella, Trichodina) as well as skin and gill flukes.
It can also be used for disinfecting external injuries and furthermore prevents secondary infections.
